Establishment of the faculty

Horus University Egypt was established in New Damietta City by Presidential Decree No. 119 on February 17, 2013, as a university affiliated with the Supreme Council of Private and National Universities. Presidential Decree No. 657 of 2020 was issued to establish a Faculty of Medicine, adding to the university’s existing faculties.

The Faculty of Medicine at Horus University  Egypt is committed to a set of core values that govern performance and underpin all academic, administrative, and financial policies and procedures. These values include honesty, integrity, transparency, accountability, collaboration, and continuous development.

The Faculty of Medicine aims to preparing and graduating a generation of doctors capable of providing high-quality medical services that meet contemporary needs. It relies on the latest medical education strategies, including student-centered learning, problem-solving, integrating basic medical sciences into the pre-clinical phase to reduce redundancy and conflict in information, early exposure to clinical studies, adopting courses that develop personal and professional skills, and providing a learning environment that encourages discussion and teamwork.
