The Department of Clinical Pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine, Horus University, aims to achieve leadership in the fields of medical education, graduate outcomes, scientific research, and the development of faculty and staff performance. This is done to keep pace with the continuous advancements in medical education and learning in the study of medicine. The department also collaborates with other departments to enhance and strengthen the connection between basic sciences and clinical healthcare through teaching in an integrated program using modern, innovative methods.

 

We welcome you to the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and present to you an overview of the department’s activities and its scientific content.

 

Clinical pharmacology, or the study of drugs, focuses on understanding how drugs work and their effects on humans. This includes the entire process from drug discovery to approval for use in various medical conditions. The study also examines side effects, drug interactions—both between different drugs and between drugs and food—and addresses necessary precautions to ensure the optimal use of medications.

Given that this field is characterized by ongoing discoveries, it is a dynamic specialty that requires continuous updates to its scientific content to keep up with changes and advancements in pharmacology.

 

In addition, the department is committed to ongoing updates in scientific research and the development of learning quality. This includes using different modern methods and mechanisms aimed at equipping students with the necessary scientific skills for both their academic studies and professional lives.
